ASSET REFURBISHMENT

A leopard gecko shedding its skin is a natural process called ecdysis, which helps it grow and renew itself. This activity is essential because a gecko’s outer skin layer does not expand as it grows. By shedding its old, worn-out skin, the gecko makes room for growth and removes parasites, damage, and debris, leaving behind a fresh, healthier outer layer.

Similarly, transformers can benefit from a renewal process. Aging infrastructure, environmental factors, and evolving energy demands pose significant challenges to maintaining a dependable transformer fleet. Developing a backup plan is vital for resiliency. Whether managing 2 or 200 transformers, having refurbished units or replacements ready to go is paramount to ensuring a stable and uninterrupted power supply across your fleet.

Refurbishment services can restore a transformer and its components to ANSI, NETA, and IEEE-approved conditions. During the process, the SDMyers team works to restore the transformer to as close to “like new” as possible without replacing major components such as the windings or core.
